The Davao City Water District visited three elementary schools representing the three congressional public districts of the city. This is part of the annual Water Consciousness Month celebration.
Schools visited were Matina Pangi Elementary School, in Matina, Daniel M. Perez ES in Bunawan and Bartolome ES in Manuel Guianga, Tugbok District.
Selected DCWD staff lectured on water cycle, water conservation and water facts to Grades 3 to 6 pupils. Around 1000 benefited from this school activity. |

Ateneo HS wins anew in DCWD speech tilt |

The Ateneo De Davao University High School again emerged champion in the final rounds of 9th Extemporaneous Speaking contest sponsored by the Davao City Water District last November 19 at the SM City Event Center. The theme was “Water, Watershed, and the Environment.”
Ateneo’s bet, 4th year high Ma. Eleanor M. Reserva, grabbed the first place besting 14 other finalists from 38 participating public and private high schools that competed during the three batches of elimination rounds held last November 11 and 12. Ateneo’s debate team was also the champion in the recently concluded 2nd DCWD |

citywide debate contest wherein Reserva was adjudged best debater. |

The Ateneo de Davao University High School (ADDU) outwitted defending champion Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS) during the final rounds of the Davao City Water District’s 2nd Debate contest held last week at SM City Event Center.
The Ateneo debate team was composed of Kevin Luke V. Mizon, prime minister; Ma. Eleanor R. Reserva, deputy prime minister; and Gea Shanine S. Sedayao, whip. Rerserva was unanimously chosen as best debater by the adjudicators.

team was composed of Kevin Dave B. Ballesta, leader of the opposition; Danielle G. Diaz, deputy leader of the opposition; and Nelizza Mae P. Marzo, whip. |

DCWD partners with DepEd, USEP for youth empowerment |

The Davao City Water District (DCWD) continues to empower the youth by linking up with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP).
Responding to the call of corporate social responsibility, the utility though its Community Relations and External Affairs Department – Community Relations Unit established the “Karunungan ng Kabataan” and “May Bukas Ka, Bata” projects to guide the youth through formal education and livelihood skills trainings.

youth by empowering them through education and skills trainings as it believes in their significant role in nation building,” says DCWD general manager Rodora Gamboa in a statement. |
